Since 1990, more than one operator per week has shared the route. The longest serving is First Pioneer whom have operated the Sunday, evening and Bank Holiday services since 2001, from its Dukinfield garage.

As well as serving its respective communities, it is ideal for exploring Stalybridge Country Park and the Brushes Valley or sampling the finest real ales at (for example), The Cheshire Ring, The Britannia Inn and The Ashton Arms.
